ANNOUNCES NEW FLOOR IN FIRESTONE FIELDHOUSE
Firestone Fieldhouse, the multipurpose venue at
Pepperdine University for NCAA Division I athletics
competition, physical education courses, and major
events, is now home to a high-performance,
competition-grade maple wood floor. Work was finished in
June on the gym floor, which features a newly redesigned
logo. Pepperdine's new athletics jerseys also will be
unveiled this fall.
Those interested in making a contribution toward the
new floor may contact Sam Lagana, senior advancement
officer for Athletics and project coordinator for the
Firestone Fieldhouse renovation campaign at (310)
506-4150. In grateful acknowledgement of pacesetting
gifts, the University will recognize major donors on a
prominent plaque to be placed in the lobby area of
Firestone Fieldhouse.
In addition to the new gym floor, there will be a new
scoreboard and timing system for swimming and water polo
at Raleigh Runnels pool, and the baseball stadium will
receive a facelift with replacement of the current bench
seats and installation of new chair-back seats, thanks
to Waves "Angels."
