Volunteer Opportunities: Ongoing Programs
Boys and Girls Club of Malibu
Description:
WHAT IS BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF MALIBU? Boys and Girls Club of Malibu is a place where kids can come for personal, educational, and social development, as well as friendship. The Club provides an environment where kids feel they belong and offers programs including educational assistance, mentoring, and fun activities.
WHERE DO I FIT IN? Volunteers will lead and participate in various activities with the middle and high school students such as arts and crafts, skateboarding, basketball, soccer, and so much more! If you have an interest that you think middle and high school students might enjoy, then let's figure out a way to plan an activity and do it!
This is a semester commitment preferred program. We would love to have you volunteer with us each week, but if your schedule prevents that, you can also volunteer periodically throughout the semester. However, we would prefer that you commit to at least 2 days throughout the semester.
Before volunteering, you must attend a brief training session. Training is offered on Mondays between 8:00-10:00AM or Fridays between 8:00-10:00 AM in TCC 230. Please email Michael to schedule a training session including 2 times that would work best for you.
If you are busy during those times, please let him know a few other times that may work for you, and he will meet with you at one of the other times you listed!
If you cannot go on Mondays, but would still love to volunteer, please email Michael. He will provide you with details regarding transportation, registration, and required training.
