Step Up Program
Description:
What Is Step UP?
Step UP Employment Training is a job training program for incarcerated youths in L.A. County. Our vision is to foster hope in those whom society has forgotten, or dismissed as lost in the prison system. Step UP volunteers deeply believe in the ability for these youths to change. We bring about change by mentoring the youths, one-on-one, and assist them in planning short and long term goals, articulating their skills, and improving interviewing abilities. We even hold a mock interview to practice their skills, as well as an etiquette luncheon at the end of the seminar to cap a learning experience developed specifically for these youths.
