Jumpstart's Read for the Record, Thursday, October 2, 2008

Since 1993, Jumpstart has been working toward the day every child in America enters school prepared to succeed. Through bringing at-risk preschool children and caring adults together in intensive, year-long relationships, we have been able to build the vital literacy, social, and emotional skills children need to thrive. Jumpstart’s Read for the Record is an annual campaign designed to bring attention to the importance of early education. On October 2, children and adults nationwide will read the beloved book Corduroy by Don Freeman in hopes of breaking a world breaking and making early education a national priority. Volunteer at one of the reading events at the Los Angeles Central Library and help us break the world record again for the largest shared reading experience! You don't have to be a Jumpstart Corp Member to join us!
