What is Waves of Service?

The Waves of Service movement celebrates, supports, and connects Pepperdine alumni committed to volunteerism and careers of service worldwide. Through world-wide service to students, fellow alumni, the University, and the communities in which they live and work, Pepperdine alumni are advancing the mission of the University and fulfilling George Pepperdine's founding vision beyond his wildest dreams.

How Can I Participate?

1. Tell the service story of a fellow alumnus. Share with us how your fellow alumni are impacting others through service.  Submit names, photos, video, and stories to our Waves of Service FanPage or email us at wavesofservice@pepperdine.edu.
2. Volunteer in the community. Click here to learn of opportunities to serve through an alumni chapter in your region or participate in a Waves of Service-related project.
3. Mentor or intern a student. Share your personal life or your professional experience with one of Pepperdine's outstanding undergraduate or graduate students. Sign up through PAN Online.
4. Become a fan. Join the Waves of Service Facebook FanPage. See what other alumni are doing in the community, post a video, connect with fellow Pepperdine alumni, and invite your friends to become a fan.
5. Invite fellow alumni to serve with you.  Encourage alumni to serve in different capacities such as monetary, time, supplies, or encouragement.
6. Find an alumnus whose services and location closely match the need of your non-profit organization.  Post your organization's needs on the Facebook FanPage to encourage the Pepperdine community to help.
7. Interview and/or hire a Wave. Hire or open doors for Pepperdine alumni by posting or referring jobs to quality applicants. Prospective employers are encouraged to post on one or more of the following career sites depending on the nature of the job. Post a job on the:
   • Graduate School of Education and Psychology career site
   • Graziadio School of Business and Management career site
   • School of Law career site
   • Seaver College career site
   • School of Public Policy career site
8. Give. Click here to contribute to loan forgiveness funds that enable alumni to pursue lives of service to which they are called.
