General FAQ's
What's the best time to arrive?
Registration check in starts at 10am on Friday and 8:30am on Saturday. Please see the schedule of events for more details. Plan ahead for possible event traffic and please try to carpool.
Where should we check-in?
Check-in will be open on Friday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Philips Plaza Terrace. Malibu Campus map.
What time does it end?
Please see the schedule of events for more details.
How hot will it get in the day and how cold will it get at night?
Generally, the weather in Malibu is mild in mid October, but temperature highs can reach the low 90's and low's can fall to the mid 40's. Please plan appropriately with sunscreen and eye protection during the day and a light sweater or jacket for the evening.
I'm a photographer. Who do I arrange a photo pass through?
Waves Weekend is a private event and no photographer passes will be issued. Please contact Chad Quiñones at (310) 506-6580 with additional inquiries.
How can I get information on having a booth there?

If I could only make it to one day, which should it be?
The majority of events will take place on Saturday, 10/13. The base package includes most of Saturday's events in the registration price. Waves Weekend offers a wide array of events tailored to meet varied interests, and some have additional fees. Please see the schedule of events for more details.
Events
If I do not register online, can I still buy a ticket and attend?
Yes, online registration is your easiest option and provides the best chance at getting tickets before we sell out, but If you miss this deadline you will be able to register for events and buy tickets during Waves Weekend at the registration table. Tickets purchased during the event can be paid for by cash or check. You must register and receive an official name tag before you can attend any event. No refunds will be given after the registration September 30th deadline.
I have one extra person in my party can they come?
If you miss the October 11th online registration deadline, you will be able to register your guest during Waves Weekend at the registration table. Tickets can be purchased by cash or check. Children 12 and under can come for free provided they have an official name tag from the registration table. No refunds will be given after the September 30th deadline.
Can someone come to an event that does not have a name tag on them?
No. Everyone participating in a Waves Weekend event must be wearing their official name tag from the registration table. Your name tag serves as your admittance ticket to any Waves Weekend event. It is very important that you wear your name tag at all times. If you lose your name tag or need an extra one for someone in your party, please contact the registration table.
My family is running late. Is there any way we can hold the bus/activity?
This is at the discretion of the event host. If the activity occurs off campus, event staff at the registration table will give participants a map and details describing how to link up with the group leader if arriving late.
A member of my party is not on the event list, but they should be. What do I do?
Contact the help line at (310) 506-6580. They will check with registration and fix the issue.
Where and when will Lunch/Breakfast/Dinner be served?
Meal options depend on registration choices. More details about meal options for specific days will be available on the event schedule once registration opens on August 13. The Waves Café located on the Seaver College campus is open during the weekend as a dining option. The Waves Café weekend hours of operation are: Friday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday/Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Please note that meals are included in the family registration.
Are the events handicap accessible?
Yes, all events are handicap accessible. Contact our office so we can accommodate any specific needs you or a loved one might need for the weekend.
Am I allowed to bring my own food to the concert?
We have a wonderful selection of L.A.'s finest food trucks available for meal options at the concert venue, and water stations will be available as well. At this time, we are not allowing you to bring your own food or beverage into the concert venue.
Do students have to pay to go to the events?
No, current Pepperdine students are free with a valid Pepperdine University student I.D.
Tickets
Where can I buy tickets?

Will there be tickets sold at the event?
If the event doesn't sell out in advance, then tickets will be available at the registration table. The registration table is open on Friday from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:30 - 3 p.m. at the Philips Plaza Terrace. Tickets will be available for purchase by cash or check. No refunds will be given after the September 30th deadline.
