Put a little extra "Pepp" in your step and join the Ventura County Waves at one of two locations for Step Forward Day 2016! On Saturday, September 10, the Ventura County Waves will be making twice the difference by partnering with both the Salvation Army in Ventura and Many Mansions in Thousand Oaks. Pick the place closest to you (or nearest to your heart) and celebrate Pepperdine's mission of purpose, service, and leadership!

8:30 - 11:45 AM: The Salvation Army (Ventura)

Join the Ventura County Waves to partner with the Salvation Army for a morning of service! The Salvation Army operates 7,546 centers in communities across the United States that offer food distribution, disaster relief, rehabilitation centers, anti-human trafficking efforts, and a wealth of children's programs. The Ventura County Waves will be helping with the organization of toys and clothes for the Christmas Angel Tree program, which provides new clothing or toys for children of needy families. Everyone ages 18 and up are welcome to participate in this fun-filled service project. Be sure to wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable, casual clothes.

 

9 AM - 12 PM: Many Mansions (Thousand Oaks)

Join the Ventura County Waves to partner with Many Mansions for a morning of service! Since 1979, Many Mansions has provided well-managed, service-enriched, affordable housing to low-income residents of Ventura County and its surrounding communities. The Ventura County Waves will be helping with property improvement, such as painting the property fencing. Everyone ages 12 and up is welcome to participate in this fun-filled service project. Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Please make sure to dress in casual, comfortable, cool clothing that may get washable paint on it. Wearing a hat and sunscreen is highly recommended.
