Blessings in a Backpack

Academia Advance Middle School

10 AM to 1 PM

Join the Los Angeles Waves in Chinatown as they partner with Blessings in a Backpack, an organization that mobilizes communities, individuals, and resources to provide food on the weekends for elementary school children across America who might otherwise go hungry. Volunteers will be packing meals and snacks for students to ensure they are getting food on the weekend.

Shane's Inspiration

11 AM to 1 PM

Join the Los Angeles Waves in partnering with Shane's Inspiration to set up event materials such as tables, chairs, and tents near the finish line of the annual Walk & Roll Race that Shane's Inspiration will be hosting the following day.

Koreatown Youth & Community Center

9 AM to noon

Join the Los Angeles Waves in a beautification project to plant trees, maintain the landscape, and clean up the streets in Koreatown.

9 AM to noon

Join the Los Angeles Waves as they serve in Santa Monica with the Surfrider Foundation to clean a local beach.

Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena

9 AM to noon

Join the Pasadena Waves in partnering with Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena to nourish a local children's garden by tending to vegetables, succulents, pulling weeds, and cleaning.

Please Note:

Children ages 12 and up are welcome to serve.

Hope Gardens Family Center

8:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Bring joy to kids and families with fellow alumni, friends, and Pepperdine's Graduate School of Education and Psychology (GSEP). Serve formerly homeless families at this carnival themed event, complete with games, laser tag, performances and more. Additionally, GSEP will provide new backpacks for each child to use throughout the upcoming school year.
