Diane and Guilford Glazer Institute for Jewish Studies

2019–20 Brenden Mann Scholars
Brittany Weinstock, Nadia Amirmokri, Veronica Pahamova, Natalia Escobar-Molina, Daniel
Lopez, Luke Vorster, Luke Whartnaby
The Glazer Institute was established based on the understanding that as a Christian
University, Pepperdine's students are especially open to discussions of faith and
identity, but are often unacquainted with Christianity’s historical and ongoing relationship
with Judaism. Through work in the classroom, international opportunities, and co-curricular
programs, it continues to expand horizons, challenge stereotypes, and open doors to
lives of service, understanding, respect, and faith. Read more…
Jewish Culture Club Convo
The Glazer Institute is proud to partner with Seaver College to offer the Jewish Culture
Club Convo. Opened to all Seaver students irrespective of their religious beliefs,
the club convo is led by Pepperdine rabbi in residence Ari Schwarzberg, and it explores
the intersection of Judaism and Christianity while touching upon fundamentals of Jewish
culture, texts, and ideas. The rabbi in residence program is sponsored by the Jewish
Federation of Los Angeles with a grant to Pepperdine's Diane and Guilford Glazer Institute
for Jewish Studies. Club convos partially fulfill convocation requirements.
