Entrepreneur Derek Folk to Share Business Advice with Students and Alumni

Derek Folk, president of Williams Tax & Financial Group Inc. and student at Graziadio Business School’s PKE MBA program, will present “Becoming a Successful Entrepreneur” at the Pepperdine University Calabasas campus on Saturday, July 14, from 10 AM to noon.

Folk will share entrepreneurial insights with Pepperdine students and alumni interested in starting their own businesses or climbing their way up to a C-level career.

Attendees will explore:

  • Continuous innovation and creativity
  • Integration of technology into business
  • Where entrepreneurs should focus their efforts
  • Critical functions that are needed but unaffordable

Williams Tax & Financial Group Inc. provides tax, accounting, and business management solutions to business owners, athletes, entertainers, and other high-net worth clients. Folk helps guide and shape the firm's branding, business development, and operations strategies. He has been able to combine his entrepreneurial and corporate experiences to help develop new areas of business for his family's 60-year-old financial management firm. He spent the earlier part of his career working for consumer products companies, including The Walt Disney Company, Petersen Publishing, and Thomas Kinkade, where he honed his skills in the areas of product development, sourcing, and operations. Folk serves on several advisory boards and boards of directors for various organizations.
