An Evening with Pepperdine Fine Arts: Seaver College Fine Arts Division Hosts Virtual Online Performance

April 13, 2020  | 2 min read

For one night only, students of the Seaver College Fine Arts Division will share their talents in art history, guitar, instrumental music, studio art, theatre, and the vocal arts at An Evening with Pepperdine Fine Arts. The special event, hosted in collaboration with the Pepperdine University Office of the President, will be held virtually on Friday, April 17, at 6 PM on the Zoom platform.

“The remainder of our performance and exhibition season vanished in the blink of an eye when we had to transition to online classes due to COVID-19,” says Bradley Griffin, divisional dean of the Seaver College Fine Arts Division. “In many of our disciplines, the senior thesis is a culminating performance or exhibition in the spring semester that crystallizes everything the student has learned for the past four years. While a Zoom performance can't replace the real thing, this evening will provide an opportunity to feature some of those seniors, as well as other students, whose work is truly excellent and worthy of sharing with the widest possible audience. For friends, family, and supportive faculty members and peers now scattered around the world, it will be an opportunity to come together to celebrate Pepperdine through the arts.”

The program will begin with a variety of instrumental performances, which will include a selection of classical and contemporary pieces performed by students of the Seaver College music program. The evening will also highlight student art history research; presentations of original works by students in the studio art program; a selection of monologues from notable works by students in the theatre program; and vocal performances of celebrated compositions. The evening will conclude with a guitar performance and a group sing-a-long.

This event is free and open to the public. To virtually attend An Evening with Pepperdine Fine Arts, please register on the event registration website.
