Celebrating 60 years of supporting Christian Students 1958–2018
The Associated Women for Pepperdine (AWP) was founded in 1958 by Helen M. Young to support George Pepperdine College at its original Los Angeles campus. In the 60 years since its founding, AWP has expanded from a women's organization seeking to support specific projects at the college to a leading "co-ed" fundraising organization for Church of Christ scholarships at Pepperdine.
Now, with a growing endowment exceeding $4 million, the core AWP mission remains: help students receive a world-class education and "help them build a foundation of Christian character and faith which will survive the storms of life," as founder George Pepperdine desired. This year, we are celebrating "Ribbons of Memories"—the people like you who have brought AWP this far and continue to motivate us to do the work that we do.
During Harbor, please join us at our 60th-anniversary reception and stop by Payson library to peruse the AWP memorabilia on display. Thank you for faithfully supporting our students over the years!
