Service Opportunities

One Step Forward

Start the year out right! Serve with 1,500 friends, new and old, and take a "step forward" that will lead you to serve for the rest of the year. Step Forward Day is a simple yet significant way for the Pepperdine community to be a neighbor and to participate in our mission and calling.

Get Involved

All are invited and encouraged to participate in Step Forward Day. We have participants from all Pepperdine schools and look forward to including all of Pepperdine's campuses.  Family and friends are also encouraged to participate.   

Create or Lead a Group

If you would like to create a group to serve together, please call us.
All groups must have a minimum of eight people, including one leader.

Leaders attend a brief training and take on responsibilities to help make the day successful. All participants are sent out to work sites in groups that they select during registration.

Do you know of an organization that Pepperdine should partner with?

Please have a staff member from the organization contact the PVC dire

ctly. They can learn more byvisiting the Community Partners section of t

his Step Forward Day site. Please do not plan a Step Forward Day project with a partner without the PVC.

Schedule of the Day

7:00 AM:Check-in at Smother's parking lot.
Note: Check-in times will vary for each group. You will be notified of your specific check-in time the day before via email.

9:00 AM–1:30 PM: Service at work site.
Note: Groups will arrive back to campus at various times depending on their work site location.

1:30–3:00 PM: Volunteer Fair at Alumni Park with In-N-Out, the Reflection Wall, and a photo booth.
