Faculty Dependent Travel Care Initiative

This initiative will provide funding for dependent care expenses incurred by tenure/tenure-track faculty due to travel to a professional conference, workshop, symposium, or other professional development meetings. Examples of such expenses include, but are not limited to: additional childcare expenses, the cost of transporting a child and/or caregiver to a professional conference, additional elder care expenses, and overnight caregiver costs incurred at home. Awards will be paid as additional compensation and are considered taxable income. 

Please note that funding for conference travel must be secured prior to seeking funds through this initiative. The priority deadline for applications is August 21, 2023, and then ongoing submissions are allowable. Note: Applications after the priority deadline will be reviewed monthly and must be submitted by April 15 to be considered. Funded projects will be expected to complete the Internal Research Report Form by August 15, 2024.
