President, AWP

As I begin my service as Associated Women for Pepperdine's new President, I look forward to building on the successful groundwork laid by all of those dedicated women who have gone before me. I am very proud to say that over this past 50 years, AWP women and men have demonstrated the spirit of giving by being steadfast in living out the mission of AWP. The mission to strengthen students from the Churches of Christ, to assist the University in recruiting quality students, and to foster a spirit of friendship among men and women who are interested in supporting Christian education at Pepperdine has sustained us. Most recently, we officially celebrated our 50th anniversary with a spectacular dinner, honored founder Helen Young with a lovely tea, and received special recognition during the Bible Lectures, and then officially installed a new board.

I stand ready armed with prayer and faith to begin the next chapter, with Christian education as our emphasis as we move forward to help spiritually ground 21st century students, who find changes in almost every sphere of their lives. This requires each generation of college students and their sisters and brothers in Christ to support the next generation of AWP recipients.

I am delighted to be part of a very creative, talented, and hard-working executive board to serve with me over the next year. One of the first items on our agenda is to grow our membership; and the success of that endeavor depends on the willingness of the current members to participate directly in our upcoming One by One Membership Campaign. You will be hearing from us about how you can participate in this exciting new campaign!

I look forward to the opportunity of meeting you and our AWP students, as together we continue our mission to provide a Christian education to as many of our church students as possible.
