Case for Support
You may never know the full impact of your giving, but future generations of Pepperdine graduates will.
There are many avenues for giving during the Campaign for Pepperdine, depending on your preference. Pepperdine University's Center for Estate and Gift Planning is pleased to work with you to develop a Pepperdine Plan that meets your particular needs, interests, and aspirations.
The simplest and easiest gift you can make is an outright gift of cash, securities, corporate bonds, real estate, or life insurance policies.
Your commitment to Pepperdine does not have to be made in just one year. You have an option to make a pledge that can be paid over several years. A pledge agreement allows us the opportunity to count your commitment to the Campaign for Pepperdine and recognize your generosity.
This is an excellent way to make a future gift to Pepperdine while maintaining control and use of your assets during your lifetime. A bequest can be made through your will or living trust, or by beneficiary designation for any retirement accounts such as an IRA, 401(k), or 403(b).
Pepperdine Plan Gifts
These legacy gifts allow you to make a commitment to Pepperdine; at the same time, receive an income stream for one or more lives and a charitable income tax deduction that can be used to offset current taxable income. You can also use a Pepperdine Plan gift to sell highly appreciated assets with little or no capital gains tax. Several options are available: a Charitable Remainder Annuity Trust; Unitrust; a Charitable Gift Annuity; or a Charitable Gift Annuity for Home.
Leverage your giving to Pepperdine by utilizing your employer's gift-matching program, if available. You receive recognition for your gift plus your employer's matching contribution. Your employer also receives acknowledgement for its gift.
The university's professionals in our Center for Estate and Gift Planning stand ready to answer your questions or those of your financial adviser.
