Lila McDowell Carlsen

Interim Vice Provost

Lila McDowell Carlsen, associate provost and professor of Hispanic studies at Seaver College, will serve as interim vice provost for the 2023–2024 academic year. In her work as associate provost, Lila has served the Pepperdine community as chair of the University Academic Council, chair of the Faculty Conference Committee, and has led several initiatives in support of faculty. As interim vice provost, her expanded responsibilities include support of the Office of Research, Grants, and Foundation Relations and the Office of Institutional Effectiveness.
