Pepperdine hosted esteemed lawyer and political leader Andrzej Duda, the former president of Poland, to discuss his leadership journey and Poland's role in global politics as part of the Pepperdine President's Speaker Series.
This lecture examines Genoa’s transformation from a medieval maritime city into a Renaissance and Baroque urban landscape, beginning with the triumphal entry of Andrea Doria and Emperor Charles V in 1529.

Pepperdine Libraries and the Humanities and Teacher Education Division presented back-to-back book talks from two Seaver faculty members who've authored books published this fall.
On October 10, 2025, the School of Public Policy and Faith and Law hosted “Faithful Free Speech: From Campus to the Hill” featuring Robert P. George. The discussion explored the purpose of the First Amendment, its roots in the inalienable rights of the Declaration of Independence, and the essential role of faith in the public square. Dr. George reflected on the state of free expression in academia and politics, offering historical context and emphasizing the importance of building friendships across political divides through shared faith.
Great Books Club
Led by distinguished professors of Great Books, the Pepperdine Great Books Club invites alumni, parents, and friends to explore the works of celebrated authors who have shaped classic and Christian literature. In our 2026 sessions, Dr. Paul Contino, Distinguished Professor of Great Books, will lead an exploration of Dante’s Divine Comedy, guiding participants through its profound themes of faith, transformation, and the soul’s journey toward God.
