The Faith and Business Initiative
The Faith and Business Initiative is Pepperdine University's hub for bringing together faculty, students, and business practitioners to explore the intersection of business and the Christian tradition.
Launched by the generous support of the John Templeton Foundation, the Faith and Business Initiative at Pepperdine University was established in 2025 to deepen the scholarly conversation about the relationship between business and the Christian tradition and to integrate these conversations in the classroom and in business practice.
What We Do
Events
The faith and business initiative regularly hosts events featuring guest speakers from outside of the Pepperdine community to speak on topics related to faith and business.
Faculty Fellows
The faith and business Faculty Fellows are full-time faculty at Pepperdine who are committed to supporting each other's work at the intersection of the Christian faith and business/economics.
Chapel
The faith and business chapel functions within the larger umbrella of the Chapel program at Seaver College. The Faith and Business Initiative hosts larger Welcome Chapel sessions in the Fall for first-year students and smaller Connection Chapel sessions in the Spring for first and second-year students. The Welcome Chapel involves participation from interested Seaver Business faculty members and serves as an introduction to Seaver Business for students interested in business. The Connection Chapel deepens the exploration of issues related to faith and business for interested students.
Yates Fellows
The Jere E. Yates Fellows are undergraduate students at Pepperdine who seek to deepen their own understanding of the relationship between faith and business; and to help other students do the same. They serve as student leaders of the faith and business chapel program.
