Pepperdine University Partners with National Center for Faculty Diversity and Development

Beginning on January 31, 2022, Pepperdine University faculty, post-doctoral researchers, and graduate students will gain access to the National Center for Faculty Diversity and Development (NCFDD). The center commits to providing scholars with resources to support their growth within academia. 

“We are all aware of the disruption the pandemic has caused to our professional activities and has continued to illuminate the need for additional support for our community of scholars,” shared Pepperdine provost Jay Brewster. “I would like to thank Seaver College dean Michael Feltner and Seaver College associate dean Kindy DeLong for sponsoring Pepperdine’s institutional membership and making these resources available to our faculty.” 

NCFDD is a nationally recognized, independent organization providing online professional development, training, and mentorship of scholars at more than 450 colleges and universities across the nation. The programs are specially designed to support scholars, particularly people of color in academia, in harnessing research productivity while protecting work-life balance. Faculty will receive an invitation to enroll in the center on January 31. Available resources include weekly motivators, writing challenges, online courses alongside fellow scholars across the nation, and more.
