Caruso School of Law to Commemorate Legacy of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

As part of a series of special events commemorating Women’s History Month, the Women's Legal Association and the Office of Diversity and Belonging at the Caruso School of Law will present the panel discussion, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg: Her Legacy of Women's Rights, via Zoom on Tuesday, March 23, at 12:45 PM PDT. Christine Chambers Goodman, professor of law at the Caruso School of Law, and alumna Tracy Smith (JD ’19), a current clerk for a federal district court judge, will lead the panel discussion on Ginsburg’s career and legacy, including an examination of her early career, opinions she authored on women's equality, and a critical look at the effectiveness of her method of promoting equality throughout her decades of leadership. 

Chalak Richards (JD ’12), assistant dean of student life, diversity, and belonging and director of the Parris Institute for Professional Excellence at the Caruso School of Law, explains that, “Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a great force and a powerful example for female attorneys about our ability to advocate for ourselves and for equality.”
