Convocation Series Addresses Unhealthy Relationships
Although scripture tells us to love one another because love is of God (1 John 4:7), in a fallen world, some people, including many college students find that even their most intimate relationships are filled with jealousy, manipulation, and even violence. This convocation, which will take place Tuesday, November 17, at, 2 PM in PLC 125, will address these issues in theological and practical ways and provide students the skills to know how to help their friends who find themselves in unhealthy relationships applying the Step Up![BROKEN LINK] Pepperdine model.
Step Up![BROKEN LINK] is a bystander intervention program that provides members of the Pepperdine community with the knowledge and tools necessary to intervene during problematic situations involving academic misconduct, alcohol abuse, anger, depression, discrimination, disordered eating, gambling, hazing, relationship abuse, and sexual assault. Students can learn about the Step Up! approach by attending training workshops or by scheduling a presentation to their student organizations.
