Gary Hanson (JD '80), executive vice president and chief operating officer of Pepperdine University, was recognized by the Work-Life Balance Conference steering committee at the Graduate School of Education and Psychology with the Dean Margaret Weber Capacity Builder Award. The award recognizes a Pepperdine leader (faculty, staff, or student) who supports workplace equality through his/her actions and who creates and maintains opportunities for everyone in their organization.

The awards committee also recognized the long-term leadership of dean Margaret Weber as a capacity builder both within the Pepperdine community and in other organizations and educational institutions. The award was named in honor of her accomplishments.
