Graziadio Alumni Network to Host Veterans Day Discussion Panel
The Pepperdine University Graziadio Alumni Network will host the Veterans Day event “From the Barracks to the Boardroom” at the West Los Angeles Graduate Campus on Thursday, November 10, at 6 PM.
Students and alumni can engage in networking opportunities with military colleagues in the Graziadio School of Business and Management community, and hear from a panel of veterans who have made successful transitions from military to civilian careers.
The following panelists will share stories of their transition into the corporate world:
- Anthony Brown (Moderator)
Brown is a leader with over 15 years of top, diversified experience, holding positions of increasing scope and responsibility with technology in the healthcare space. He is an Army veteran who is currently attending Pepperdine University’s Executive MBA program, while managing IT shops in California and Arizona.
- Troy Brashear (Northrop Grumman Corporation)
Brashear is a graduate of the Air Force Academy with extensive education, including a master’s degree in systems management from University of Southern California, a master’s degree in organization management from The George Washington University, and a master’s degree in military arts and operational sciences from Air University. Brashear has successfully led and executed significantly complex, mission-critical programs throughout a distinguished career with the U.S. Air Force. He also oversaw the execution of numerous highly relevant satellite, sensor, launch vehicle, and ground command/control demonstrations. Brashear also led the successful launch of GEO-1 and GEO-2 as the commander/division chief of Space Based Infrared Systems Ground Group.
- Kyle Kicher (Chevron)
Kichner has a proven track record of leading diverse teams in a multitude of environments, ranging from the battlefield to the boardroom. He is the operations coordinator for the Western Region of Chevron Shipping LLC and is responsible for vessel operations. Kichner is a certified coach to Chevron employees in the company’s Leadership Roles and Behaviors program. He is a 2008 graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in marine and environmental sciences. He also holds a master’s degree in biotechnology with a concentration in biodefense and biosecurity, as well as and an MBA from University of Maryland. He previously served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Coast Guard.
- Tony Miller (Federal Aviation Administration)
Miller started his journey riding dirt bikes through the deserts of Southern California. His love of sports carried over to the field as a varsity starting midfielder for his high school lacrosse team, a mountain biker on the Baylor University Cycling Team, and racing regional amateur motocross in Texas and Oklahoma. At this event, Miller will explore the question “How might we contribute to future generations by formulating better sustainable business models?”
- Tunde Ogunwole (Trammell Crow Company)
Ogunwole is a Navy veteran with 10 years of experience in facilities management, project management, construction management, and energy efficiency industries. A strong negotiator, talented team leader, and manager, Ogunwole has maintained increasing levels of managerial responsibilities including staffing, budget, client services, and business development. He also has experience in Department of Defense (DoD), public education, specialty construction, and tenant improvement projects.
