Guitar Students of Distinguished Professor Christopher Parkening to Perform Concert

The students of Christopher Parkening, one of the world’s preeminent virtuosos of classical guitar and distinguished professor of music at Seaver College, will perform at a recital in the Surfboard Room at Payson Library on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 5 PM. During this final guitar concert of the fall 2021 semester, students will perform masterpieces by internationally celebrated composers Johann Sebastian Bach, Augustin Barrios, Roland Dyens, and Francisco Tarrega.

“I believe that music is an important and effective part of life, especially during a pandemic when people are looking for some relief from the stresses of life,” explained Parkening. “The Christmas season should be a time of joy and celebration, and I am confident that this upcoming concert will bring joy and blessing to all those who hear it.  I hope that the audience walks away from the concert having experienced a wonderful journey by very accomplished classical guitarists, impressed by their level of expertise and musical ability.”
