Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts - Pepperdine UniversityOn June 29, 2020, the Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts, the premier performing arts venue in Malibu, debuted Centered on the Arts, a new podcast offering a behind-the-scenes look at the arts at Pepperdine University and featuring interviews with current and former Center for the Arts staff members, University alumni, faculty in the Seaver College Fine Arts Division, and guest artists. Topics of discussion range from the center’s booking process, arranging exhibitions in the Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art, props and scenic design, and an in-depth exploration of the upcoming 2021 season.

“I’m very excited to bring the onto this new journey. The arts provide us with one-of-a-kind experiences and emotions, but they also inspire conversation. I'm thrilled to bring this conversation to everyone,” said podcast producer R. J. Morgan (MFA ’18), events coordinator and administrative assistant at the Center for the Arts.

“In these challenging times, we all need the gifts of the arts. We wanted to launch this podcast to connect our patrons and artists and provide some joy, inspiration, and unique insights about the arts at Pepperdine,” expressed the center’s managing director, Rebecca Carson.
