Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts Announces 2023–2024 Season Lineup

Zephyr: A Whirlwind of Circus by Cirque Mechanics

The Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts has announced its lineup for the 2023–2024 season, which opens September 2023 and runs through April 2024. The schedule includes a variety of musicians, dancers, and performers, each with their own unique talents and specialties, as well as several Pepperdine student productions.

Notable performances include Rock and Roll Hall of Fame duo the Righteous Brothers, pianist John Tesh, two-time GRAMMY winner Sheena Easton, a showcase of long-running theatre favorites in On Broadway, and When You Wish Upon a Star: A Jazz Tribute to 100 Years of Disney. On September 22, 2023, alumnus and photographer Ted Grussing (JD ’74) will launch the season’s performances as he shares the natural wonder of Sedona and Northern Arizona seen through his lens at a special presentation at Smothers Theatre. Sheena Easton and The Righteous Brothers

Throughout the season, students of the Fine Arts Division and Theatre Department will present productions of The Merry Widow; This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing; and The Music Man, as well as the annual Dance in Flight. The Pepperdine Orchestra, Chamber Choir, Pickford Ensemble, and Jazz and Wind Ensembles will present a selection of classical performances, and students of guitar virtuoso Christopher Parkening will present at various recitals in Raitt Recital Hall.
