Pepperdine Theatre Department Presents Production of Almost, Maine
The Pepperdine Theatre Department will perform Almost, Maine, a play by John Cariani, comprising nine short plays that explore love and loss in a remote, mythical almost-town called Almost, Maine. Performances will take place at Lindhurst Theatre on the Malibu campus at 7:30 PM from Tuesday, Sept. 29, to Friday Oct. 2, and at 2 PM and 7:30 PM on Saturday, Oct. 3.
Scott Alan Smith, visiting assistant professor of theatre at Pepperdine University, will direct the student cast. A talkback session with the actors and director will take place after the Wednesday evening performance.
On a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the town. As the northern lights dance in the star-filled sky above, Almost's residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in Cariani's delightful midwinter night's dream.
Tickets, priced starting $15 for the public, $12 for Pepperdine faculty and staff, and $10 for Pepperdine students, are available now by visiting the Center for the Arts box office website.
