Illustration of feminine silhouetteTo commemorate Women’s History Month, the Pepperdine University community will gather for several special events held throughout March 2022. The events will celebrate women’s voices and honor their personal and professional achievements that created lasting change for their communities.

The first event of the month will welcome Josefina Castillo Baltodano, founder and executive director of the Executive Leadership Academy at the University of California, Berkeley, to lead the Margaret J. Weber Distinguished Lecture Series: Christ in Action on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at 6 PM via Zoom. Presented by the Graduate School of Education and Psychology, the discussion will highlight how Castillo Baltodano has redefined success in her life to make her work more fulfilling and effective.

On Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at 11:30 AM, the Center for Women in Leadership at Graziadio Business School will host International Women's Day: Learn, Inspire, Challenge, which will showcase how women are taking the lead to innovate with purpose, create belonging, and advance community and sustainability.

Other events include a discussion with Judge Samantha Jessner hosted by the Women’s Legal Association on March 16, 2022, and a lecture from Lisa Smith hosted by Pepperdine Libraries on March 30, 2022. A celebration of life will also be held for Professor Emerita Constance M. Fulmer who passed in March 2020. Fulmer made significant contributions to English literature scholarship and to Pepperdine during her three-decades-long tenure.
