The Yellow Boat Play Opens at Lindhurst Theatre

The Pepperdine University Fine Arts Division Theatre Department will present David Saar’s play The Yellow Boat at Lindhurst Theatre in Malibu from Tuesday, September 27, through Friday, September 30, at 7:30 PM, with an additional matinee performance on Saturday, October 1, at 2 PM.

The Yellow Boat is a glorious affirmation of a young boy's journey, and the strength and courage of all children. Based on the true story of Saar’s son, Benjamin, who was born with congenital hemophilia and died of AIDS-related complications in 1987, The Yellow Boat is an exploration of the power of imagination and art’s ability to transform lives in the face of overwhelming obstacles—all told through the eyes of 8-year-old Benjamin. It is a profound play of imagination, hope, and love, as well as a vibrant celebration of life for all ages.

Pepperdine visiting assistant professor of theater Scott Alan Smith will direct the student cast, which features Noah Archibald, Addyson Culpepper, Jacquelyn Ferguson, Dylan Forehand, Tara Jenkins, April Rock, Andreon Watson, and Reed Williams.

Ticket prices range between $10 and $15, and late seating is not allowed.
