Pepperdine University to Host ‘Cybersecurity and Defense Cooperation Conference’

Former UK PM Liz Truss and Pepperdine’s Kiron Skinner to deliver keynote addresses

 


 

September 21, 2023 – Malibu, CA – Former British Prime Minister Liz Truss will deliver a keynote address during the “Cybersecurity and Defense Cooperation Conference” hosted by Pepperdine University School of Public Policy, September 24 and 25. The event is cosponsored by The Heritage Foundation, Danube Institute and Parliamentary Intelligence-Security Forum and is being held at Pepperdine University’s newest international campus, the historic Château d’Hauteville near Vevey, Switzerland. 

Kiron Skinner, Taube Professor of International Relations and Politics at Pepperdine University School of Public Policy, will also deliver keynote remarks. 

The conference will assemble some of the world’s leading experts on defense, national security, and international relations to discuss the future of defense cooperation matters in Europe, especially considering Russia’s assault of Ukraine and external influences that include China’s expansionism and growing regional issues extending from Africa and Central Asia.

The conference will foster dialogue among policy makers and leaders about cybersecurity policy and cooperation. Experts from Europe, the Middle Corridor, and the United States will dissect topics such as:

- Issues & Opportunities for Cyber in Europe
- Cyber Policy Trends
- Cyber Meets Physical
- NATO Digital Integration
- The Changing Character of War
- Trends in Advanced Technology
- The Defense Industrial Base
- NATO Post-Ukraine
