Pepperdine University Appoints Attorney and Philanthropist Anna Mergele to Board of Regents
MALIBU, Calif. – Pepperdine University has appointed attorney and philanthropist Anna Mergele to the Board of Regents, the legal governing body and chief policy board of the University.
“Anna possesses extensive experience in both legal work and community leadership,” said Pepperdine University President Jim Gash. “Her wisdom and initiative will serve as incredible assets to the Board of Regents.”
Mergele’s esteemed work as an attorney includes tenure at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Resolution Trust Corporation, the US Department of the Interior, and American Insurance Association.
Since leaving law practice, Mergele has focused her energies philanthropically, sitting on the boards of Jill’s House and Good Shepherd Alliance. Other philanthropic endeavors include involvement with Best Buddies International, Bishop John T. Walker School for Boys, Christian Legal Society, Iowa State Fair Blue-Ribbon Foundation, Religious Freedom Institute, Together We Rise, Unlikely Heroes, and Washington National Cathedral.
Mergele resides in Florida with her husband, Carl E. Mergele, CEO of Stats Perform. Their son, Ethan (MDR ’24), is a recent graduate of the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University’s Caruso School of Law.
