Pepperdine Graziadio Launches Master of Science in Business

Aimed at the recent undergraduates regardless of discipline studied, the new Master of Science in Business (MSB) offered by the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School will advance skills and open new career avenues for recent college graduates seeking to gain a competitive advantage in business. The program will equip students with the breadth of competencies and foundation needed to enter today’s dynamic and innovation-driven world of work. The MSB program will launch in Fall 2021 on Pepperdine Graziadio’s Malibu campus.

Designed for candidates with little to no work experience and a bachelor’s degree in any major, the MSB will provide a broad interdisciplinary graduate education, combining essential business courses in accounting, economics, marketing, and finance with contemporary topics focusing on digital platforms, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and other technological drivers of success and innovation.

The program offers hands-on training that will prepare students to use data and analytics to examine business opportunities, identify insights, and generate value for both customers and employers. Students will have multiple elective course options to tailor degrees to specific interests and benefit from proximity to major Los Angeles-area technology centers, including the city’s rapidly expanding Westside.

“Whether they studied drama, journalism, computer science, biology, or French, our new MS in Business will equip students with an up-to-date business skill set in a changing world of work, expanded career options, and access to an unrivaled network of more than 40,000 alumni in established and growing industries,” said Deryck J. van Rensburg, dean of Pepperdine Graziadio Business School.

Students in the MSB program will also have the opportunity to engage in an immersive Global Business Intensive course. They will examine cross-cultural challenges and opportunities, learn how to gain market access, scale a business to the global marketplace and learn how to achieve long-term profitability. Students will develop an understanding of how key concepts in finance, marketing, supply chain management, human resources, and operations are applied to an international business environment.

As a result of the MSB, students will gain more confidence, credibility, and communications skills in the eyes of employers. International or domestic employers will also value MSB graduates for their cross-cultural skills in leadership, strategic thinking, problem solving, decision making, persuasion, and presenting.

Admission requirements include a written essay, resume, official transcript, and undergraduate degree. No work experience, GMAT, or GRE will be required. International students will be required to provide TOEFL, PTE, or IELTS score(s). Scholarship opportunities are available for qualified candidates.
