Inauguration of James A. Gash - Pepperdine University

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the purpose of an inauguration at a university?

A presidential inauguration is a milestone event in the life of an academic institution, building momentum for the University and positioning it for success as it embarks upon the next chapter in its story. With every presidential inauguration, Pepperdine strives to celebrate the University's heritage and reaffirm the uniqueness of its mission, honor the traditions of the academy and the University's commitment to learning, and affirm the importance of Pepperdine to its communities and engage each of them in meaningful ways. In addition, the University uses the extraordinary occasion to unite our global Waves family for a moment of renewal; create a sense of pride in our students, alumni, faculty, and staff; and bring together academic, government, and professional leaders in a truly distinctive moment.
