Step Forward Day

Established in 1988 by two Seaver College students, every year our Waves family comes together to serve nonprofits and their community-at-large on Step Forward Day in September. Pepperdine provides the list of service projects — all you have to do is sign up, show up, and roll up your sleeves to volunteer your time and talents. Projects range from beautifying neighborhoods, assembling care packages, to serving the homeless.

Ventura and Los Angeles Counties' Projects

This is a one-day service experience in September for all current Pepperdine students and employees (faculty and staff) in Malibu and beyond. The event offers local, ongoing service opportunities to connect with throughout the year as well. Transportation, a light breakfast, and lunch are provided to participants as needed.

Nationwide Projects

Each year, hundreds of alumni connect with their regional network of Waves across the country throughout September to serve in communities where they live.  Parents of alumni, faculty, and staff are also welcome to volunteer.
