Al Sturgeon, Steven Schultz, and Selina Brandt Assume New Roles in School of Law Administration

Pepperdine Magazine is the feature magazine for Pepperdine University and its growing community of alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends.

School of Law dean Deanell Reece Tacha announced that Al Sturgeon, Steven Schultz, and Selina Brandt have assumed new roles in administration.

“I am so privileged to be able to work with these three outstanding administrators and educators,” said Tacha. “Their responsibilities are among the highest priorities of the School of Law at this point in its history. All three distinguished lawyers will be dedicated to equipping our students for rewarding and productive lives in the profession.”

As the dean of graduate studies, Sturgeon will help build the new non-JD graduate programs. He will work with the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution to design, market, and deliver new initiatives that are in the deliberation phase.

Schultz has moved into the role of dean of students, in which he will be the general point of contact for all students, providing counseling, communications, and support in every facet of the law school experience.

Responding directly to the need for more intentional work with academic success and employment outcomes, Brandt is now the associate dean for academic success and employer relations. She will be responsible for implementing programs for both bar examination preparedness and academic success.
