Fall 2020

The Fall 2020 issue of Pepperdine Magazine honors alumni working in the field of healthcare who inspire us to imagine patient care beyond traditional methods, challenge industry norms, and shift strategies in an ever-evolving industry. This issue also shines a light on the reality of, and solutions for, the inequities in health and the tiered healthcare system experienced by people of color. The fall issue features Capri Maddox (JD '01), the first executive director of the newly established Los Angeles Department of Civil and Human Rights, who shares the motivation behind her relentless pursuit of ensuring that all Angelenos live free of discrimination. As Pepperdine seeks to create more inclusive spaces on campus, this issue highlights the student-athletes and administrators who are raising their voices to provide equitable opportunities and inspiring leadership for the next generation of Waves.
