CrossWays Cohort Leader Application

For Current Pepperdine Students:

CrossWays is a Christian youth leadership experience for high school students in the summer right before their junior or senior years. While enriching the students both spiritually and academically, CrossWays' goal is to develop strong Christian leaders by equipping them to love and live like Jesus in order to serve and lead as he did.

Another goal of CrossWays is to show the students what it's like going to college here in Malibu. The best way to accomplish that is by spending time with people like you! We are looking for approximately 8 Pepperdine students to serve as counselors for this event. If you are a committed Christian who loves talking about Pepperdine and having fun, CrossWays is for you! Counselors are provided with training, room and board, and compensation of $675 scholarship for the entire event.

Applications for counselor positions are due March 1, 2022. Accepted students will be notified in March.

Recommendation
As part of your application, we may need a reference from someone at Pepperdine who knows you and can speak to your strengths as a committed Christian student. Please think of a professor, employer, coach, mentor, resident director, or someone else on campus who we can contact for a recommendation.

Please choose a professor, mentor, employer, etc. and avoid picking a friend or peer.

CrossWays Cohort Leader
If selected as a CrossWays Cohort Leader:
  • I will be on campus without other commitments from July 25 – August 3, 2019. This includes the 9 days of the CrossWays Youth Conference plus one day of leader training.
  • I understand that my compensation will be received in the form of a scholarship. (If your participation ends, for any reason, prior to the completion of the Program, you will not receive a scholarship award of any amount, and you will immediately lose housing and meal privileges. Scholarships will be applied to the 2019 Summer School Sessions. If you have a balance due with Pepperdine University at the time of the scholarship dispersion, your award will automatically be applied to your outstanding balance.)
  • I will consistently support the policies, ideals, and mission statement of Pepperdine University and the Office of Church Relations.
