Alternative Texts
With the availability of electronic versions of texts from publishers and booksellers, the Office of Student Accessibility will only provide alternative texts for books that do NOT have an electronic version available for rental or purchase. We recommend that students consult these resources before contacting the Office of Student Accessibility at student.accessibility@pepperdine.edu:
- Amazon and individual publishers to find electronic versions of their textbooks
- Bookshare.Org (OSA can create a Bookshare account for students )
- Kindle and Natural Reader, available for free download, provide reading of PDFs, Word docs, and webpages.
If you are not able to find your textbook in an electronic format, please complete the Alternative Format Request based on the instructions below.
Please note that digital texts may take up to 4 weeks to receive from publisher upon receipt of proof of purchase, and text information. Please begin the process as early as possible.
Login to your Wavenet account and click on "Accommodate Student".
On the new page that opens click on "Accommodation" and then "Alternative Format" tab.
Click on "Student Entered" tab and then click "Create a New Alternative Format Request" button.
On the new page you will enter the information about the books you are requesting.
You will fill this form separately for each book you are requesting. Please be aware that sometimes it might take up to four weeks to secure an alternate format text from publishers.
