How to Register with OSA

Step One:

Complete an online inquiry to begin the process of registering your disability with this office.

Step Two:

After completing the online inquiry, you will receive the following forms in an email. Please upload these to your file through Wavenet (instructions will be in the email):

  1. Information Release

  2. Disability Verification Form

The Guidelines for Documentation of a Disability will guide medical or psychological professionals on the information needed to complete the file. For students seeking accommodations for ADD or for a learning disability, there is specific information needed in addition to the disability verification form

For those who have had accommodations in the past, accommodation letters should be included in the documentation submitted.

Step Three:

Once this information is sent to the office, call 310.506.6500 to schedule a conversation with one of the directors. This conversation is designed to give the directors a narrative about a student's disability, the barriers it presents to their education, and all student and director to together discern how Pepperdine can best support the student.

If approved for accommodations, students will receive an email from the office with a letter of accommodation within one week of their conversation with a director. Students choose with whom to share this letter. Accommodations will not be offered until a letter is presented to professors or appropriate staff.

Students' relationship with this office is dynamic—office staff want to hear from students if accommodations are not working, if students need additional support, or accommodations are working well. We can support you as you discuss your needs with your professors.

Additionally, all communication with the Disability Services Office is confidential. Staff will not disclose a student's affiliation with this office without permission.

Please note: Students who would like to request additional accommodations after initial registration must provide documentation and have an additional conversation with one of our directors. The Disability Services Office will need a minimum of one week to process these requests.
