Meet SPC Members

Allie Berry - Pepperdine University

Allie Berry, President

Allie is from Norman, Oklahoma and is a junior at Seaver College where she is majoring International Studies and minoring in Non-Profit Business Management and Hispanic Studies. Her freshman year, Allie was a member of the Student Philanthropy Council, Marketing Co-Chair for Pepperdine's Colleges Against Cancer, and a student worker in the International Programs office. She studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina her sophomore year where she also worked as an office assistant. Currently she is serving as the President of the council, Advocacy Chair for The Wells Project, Service and Social Events Chair for the Golden Key International Honour Society, and Marketing Co-Chair for Pepperdine's Colleges Against Cancer. She is also a member of the Pi Beta Phi fraternity for women. Allie has been part of the council since its beginning in the Spring of 2014 and is excited to see it grow and evolve to better benefit the university she loves.

 


 

Becca Lu - Pepperdine University

Becca Lu, VP Administration

Rebecca Lu is a senior studying International Business here at Seaver College. During her sophomore year, she studied abroad in Shanghai where she completed the summer internship program and the full academic year program. She is the Finance Chair and choreographer in Pepperdine University's dance company, Dance in Flight. She is also actively involved in Grace on Campus, a bible study that meets weekly at Pepperdine. After graduation, Rebecca wants to pursue a career in Marketing/PR in the fashion and entertainment industry. She eventually wants to get her MBA in Marketing and work with global markets. This is Rebecca's second year in the Student Philanthropy Council and she is excited for the different opportunities this year to educate and inspire student giving on campus.

 


 
Emma Rindels - Pepperdine University
Emma Rindels, VP Events

Emma Rindels, a junior, is a Political Science and Interpersonal Communications double major. She just returned from studying and working in England for a year and is excited to delve back into the Pepperdine community in Malibu. She is also involved in the Student Alumni Organization, Pepperdine's First Year Freshman Seminar Mentor program, Alpha Phi and International Programs. She also loves to bake anything feasible as featured on Pinterest, napping, and Pilates. Pepperdine is near and dear to her heart and for this reason, she is excited to share the joy of giving back with her fellow students and alumni.

 


Samantha Duarte - Pepperdine University
Samantha Duarte, VP Marketing

Samantha is currently a senior studying Public Relations and Marketing from Los Angeles, California. She is a motivated student always seeking adventure and opportunity. Throughout her time at Pepperdine she has served as a Songfest group producer, a New Student Orientation Leader, and as the Chief Marketing Officer for Kappa Alpha Theta. Samantha is also a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America and the Sports Business Association on campus in the hopes of one day managing talent/entertainment PR or marketing for the Los Angeles Dodgers or Lakers. She is truly delighted to have been given this opportunity of serving on the Student Philanthropy Council and is eager to give back to the community she has called home for the past three years.

 


 
Georgia Lydon - Pepperdine University
Georgia Lydon, HRL Representative

Georgia Lydon is from Columbia, South Carolina and is a sophomore here at Seaver College. She is a Sports Medicine major with the intention of attending medical school in the future. She is involved with many things here including being an active member of Tri Delta, serving on the Community Outreach Team for the Wells Project, being an RA in DeBell House, and, of course, serving as the Housing and Residence Life (HRL) representative for Student Philanthropy Council. This year, her main focus will be to incorporate and integrate the goals of SPC into House Cup, so that freshman can learn more about giving back and can start the habit early on. She will also be reaching out to members of HRL in hopes of educating them about the purpose of SPC. The RA's and SLA's are on the front lines here at Pepperdine because they have immediate and personal access to students in every class. Educating students in these positions is the first step in growing SPC's presence here on campus.


 
Sierra Perry - Pepperdine University
Sierra Perry, Freshman Representative

Sierra is a freshman at Seaver College, where she studies political science with an emphasis on international relations. Sierra is just beginning her journey and involvement at the college, and plans on studying abroad her sophomore year. After graduating from her high school where she started a program called Everyone Matters and is the National Youth Coordinator of the Everyone Matters Day Organization she joined the council to find a way to keep giving back to her new campus. In her role she is the encourager and insight to her fellow freshman class to show them the importance of giving back to Pepperdine, because before they know it their four years will be over here and given them more with than they could ever give to Pepperdine.

 

 

 
Allison Slattery - Pepperdine University
Allison Slattery, Senior Representative

Allison is a member of the class of 2016 at Pepperdine, and originally from Chicago, Illinois but has fallen in love with Southern California since coming to Pepperdine. She is studying Public Relations and Vocal Performance. Allison serves on chapter council for her sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma as the corresponding secretary and has completed multiple internships in the area with fashion and PR organizations. Allison is ecstatic about being on SPC to be able to give back to university that has given her so much!

 


 
Jackson Esker - Pepperdine University
Jackson Esker, Senior Representative

Jackson Esker is a senior at Seaver College and will be graduating with a degree in Economics in the spring. Originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Jackson has loved being in the warmer weather of Malibu for the past three years. He was also lucky enough to study abroad in Argentina during his sophomore year. He enjoyed traveling around South America, improving his Spanish, and trying all of the food.

 


 

Katie Meringolo - Pepperdine University

Katie Meringolo, Senior Representative

Katie is a senior at Seaver College ('16) where she studies intercultural communications, social work, and vocational ministries. Katie is an avid adventurer and has been on to Florence, Italy and East Africa with Pepperdine, as well as multiple other destinations across the globe. Currently, she is interning at the Santa Monica Teen Center, where she hopes of gain more knowledge in the field of social services and social work. While on campus, she is involved in organizations such as The Wells Project, SPC, and within her sorority. In her role with Student Philanthropy Council, she educates seniors to participate in the $5 or 5 campaign.

 

 

 

 

Eunice Cho - Pepperdine University

Eunice Cho, Graphic Designer

Eunice is from Eastvale, CA and is a junior at Seaver College where she is studying public relations and conflict management. Her freshman year, Eunice volunteered at the Pepperdine Volunteer Center as a Jumpstart Corps member and attended the CS Lewis Special Summer Program in London, UK. She studied abroad in Lausanne, Switzerland, her sophomore year in addition to serving as the Lausanne Career Ambassador during her time there. Currently, she is serving as a First Year Seminar Mentor, New Student Orientation Leader and serves at Sovereign Grace Church in downtown Los Angeles. She is passionate about serving her community and giving back to her peers, so she is very excited and honored to be apart of the Student Philanthropy Council.

 


 

 
Hannah Lucchesi - Pepperdine University
Hannah Lucchesi, Public Relations Manager

 Hannah Lucchesi is a third year Seaver student from Fresno, CA. She is studying Public Relations and earning her multiple subject teaching credential. This past year she spent studying abroad in London. On campus she serves as the Health & Wellness Coordinator in the Pepperdine Volunteer Center, the programming chair for Public Relations Student Society of America, involved with the organization Wonderfully Made, and a member of the sorority Tri Delta. She is excited to gain experience in her desired career path by serving as Public Relations Manager on the council and be able to give back to her school.
