Parking Reservation Request

Through the Department of Public Safety, you may request reserved parking for your special guests or events on the Malibu campus. With approval, it is possible to request individual parking reservations in parking stalls/lots, no parking signs, and for the cordoning off of certain areas.

We are unable to reserve blue-lined accessible spaces for specific individuals, the electric vehicle charging stalls, or spaces implicating any fire lane.

It is not the University’s practice to place signage for internal community members, such as faculty or staff member attending a meeting on another part of the campus. Please adhere to the following when making a parking request:

  • In order to prevent difficulties in securing parking for our fellow community members, reservations are limited to the specific number of spaces needed for an event and the reservation start time can begin no earlier than one hour prior to the start of the event and end no later than one hour after the conclusion of the event.
  • To help ensure convenient parking for our faculty, upper administration, and University guests, reservations in the Main Lot and Chapel Lot can only be made if a specific need for those locations are present and if written approval is received from either Jim Gash, Phil Phillips, Jay Brewster, or Lauren Cosentino.

To ensure availability and processing time, please submit requests with a minimum of three business days notice for 1-9 space reservations and six business days notice for 10+ space requests or those that require towing (such as for construction or maintenance). Parking reservations are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis; DPS cannot guarantee that parking reservations will be accommodated when submitted on a busy day or at the last minute.

Parking Reservation Dashboard

The Parking Reservation Dashboard offers a live, interactive tool to help students stay informed about scheduled parking reservations throughout campus. By entering specific dates, students can quickly view upcoming reservations and plan accordingly to avoid parking in reserved spaces or move their vehicle as needed. This tool is designed to assist students in identifying large reservations or other events that may impact parking availability, helping to reduce the risk of citations or towing.

Important Disclaimer:

This dashboard is a helpful tool for identifying upcoming parking reservations, but it may not include all reservations. Some reservations or events may not be listed here, and this dashboard is not a comprehensive record of all parking activity on campus. The absence of a reservation from the dashboard CANNOT be used as grounds for appealing a citation. Students are still responsible for checking their vehicle at a minimum of every 72 hours and abiding by posted reservation signage in parking areas to ensure they are not parked in reserved spaces.
