Lost and found Property

The Department of Public Safety does not collect and track found property items except as specified below. Instead, Public Safety encourages individuals to turn over most found property to a local reception desk near to where it was found (e.g. division offices, libraries, dining officials).

For security reasons, we encourage the following types of property to be turned over to us as soon as possible:

1. High Value Items (e.g. laptops, cell phones, check books, cash, coins, jewelry)

2. Items Representing a Potential Security Risk to the Owner (e.g. keys, social security cards, credit cards, checks, drivers license, passport, any document containing confidential or restricted information).

Upon request the Department of Public Safety will document any  report of property that was lost on campus and issue the requesting party a case number for tracking purposes.
