National Chairs
Bob and Tamara Bowne are the National Chairs of the Parent and Family Council beginning in Fall 2025.
They love to connect families to the important mission of Pepperdine as it inspires
students to lives of purpose, service and leadership with a passionate commitment
to Christian values and the highest standards of academic excellence.
The Bownes have been married 27 years and have three children -- Jake, Caleb, and Grace. Jake graduated with his BA/MBA from Pepperdine in 2025, with a minor in Great Books. He studied abroad in Florence, Italy, was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, and also worked for Dean Ronald Phillips in the Advancement Office during his time as an undergrad. Jake is now a Dean’s Scholar at Pepperdine Caruso School of Law. Caleb is a junior at the University of Tennessee studying Political Science on a pre-law track. He is also a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity and is a rabid Vols sports fan. Grace is a senior at Flintridge Preparatory School where she plays volleyball, writes for the school paper and serves as a peer counselor for incoming students.
Tamara has worked in the home for the past 23 years after a USC ’95 MBA and a career in Strategic Planning at Boeing and Brand Management at Nestle. Bob is a ’95 Pepperdine Caruso School of law graduate. For the past 30 years, he has managed an estate planning law practice where he enjoys helping clients plan, protect and preserve their most important legacies. Bob has served on the boards at Chandler School, Providence Saint Joseph's Hospital, the YMCA and Young Life. The Bownes have attended Eagle Rock Christian Assembly Church for over 25 years where they’ve been involved in various ministries.
