College of Health Science
Inspire the Mind
The Pepperdine College of Health Science officially opened its classroom doors to students in the fall semester of 2025 and has already made great strides in creating a vibrant, inspiring community that is deeply committed to fostering health and wellness. With an inaugural launch of the nursing and speech-language pathology schools, the college has welcomed eager students who are fortunate to be the first to use the college’s state-of-the-art technology, all the while building meaningful connections with their professors and one another, through their study of medicine and the strength they find in their faith. Founded on Pepperdine’s Christ-centered mission, this newest educational arm of the University is no exception in its dedication to creating well-rounded, mission-driven scholars who will enter the workforce with a mindset of compassion and service.
Currently offering bachelor and master-level degree programs in nursing and speech pathology, the College of Health Science plans to launch its School of Physician Assistant Studies in the fall of 2027, pending accreditation approval. During its first semester of operation, the college announced a robust and exciting partnership with HCA Healthcare, helping to ensure a significant fiscal support that will make it possible for generations of future students to learn the skills of healthcare professions and go on to better the societies around them. Through its offering of practicum placements at the Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, California, the partnership is already having an impact on the communities of Los Angeles and Ventura counties. The nearly 100 currently enrolled students have enjoyed learning in the 30,000-square-foot facility at Pepperdine’s Calabasas campus location, which includes simulation labs to mirror real-life operating and emergency rooms, preparing these scholars from day one of their educational journeys for future experiences in medical environments. With the innovative physical resources available to them, the close support offered by professors in small classroom sizes, and the spiritual reinforcement provided through Pepperdine’s mission-driven faculty, College of Health Science students feel bolstered and encouraged throughout their whole learning experience, and will no doubt carry that courage and support beyond graduation.
I am proud to be leading a college dedicated to developing Christ-centered, skilled, and caring healthcare professionals who seek to lead while serving our communities and the world.
