  What is the process to request a Pepperdine I-20? (transfer and first-year students)

To request your Form I-20, complete all six pages of the "International Student Data form" (available through the OISS Portal after a Deposit and Intent to Enroll is processed).

  If a student successfully transfer his/her SEVIS record to Pepperdine, does s/he need a new visa?

Please consult the instructions available on the US embassy website where you intend to apply and review the interview wait time for the location where you will apply.

  What is New Student Orientation? Is it mandatory?

Yes. Students should check with their school when they are required to arrive on campus for New Student Orientation.

  What should students do after arriving on campus?

Within one week of the program start date listed on the I-20, students must submit all of the documents on the Mandatory Arrival Report in order to report their arrival to the U.S. government.

  Is a Social Security Number required to open a bank account/get a driver's license/sign an apartment lease?

Generally, it is not required. More information on the Social Security Number, eligibility and uses can be found on our website.

  The OISS Portal doesn't let me log in. What should I do?

Incoming Students should not try to access the OISS Portal before receiving login instructions from the OISS via email. This email is sent automatically when a deposit is received. For technical issues that arise on the OISS Portal, feel free to contact oisstech@pepperdine.edu for support.

  When is tuition due? What are the options to pay from abroad?

  Can Pepperdine write an invitation letter for my family to request a U.S. B-2 (visitor) visa?

No. A list of documents recommended for a B-2 application is available on the Current and OPT Students web page under "Inviting Family and Friends to the US".
